Extraction Method
Essential oil is obtained by water or steam distillation from the fresh petals of Rosa damascena Mill.
Characteristics
A pale yellow or olive yellow liquid with a very rich, deep, sweet-floral, sliqhtly spicy scent. The absolute is a reddish or olive viscous liquid with a rich, sweet, spicy-floral, tenacious odours. It blerds well with most oils, and is useful for - rounding off blends.
Main Constituents
The principal constituents are Citronellol (34-55%), Geranol and Nerol (30-40%)

Key Qualities
Aphrodisiac, soothing, comforting, antidepressant, sedative (to the nervous system), uplifting, appeosing, regulating, tonic (heart).
Blends well with
Rose blends well with citrus oils and floral scents. Cedarwood, Coriander, Chamomile, Frankincense Sandalwood and Vanilla are all good blends.
Safety Data
Non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing.
Cautions
A hough genrally safe, this oils best avoided during the first 4 months of pregnancy.
