Extraction Method
A concrete is produced by solvent extraction; the absolute is obtained from the concrete by separation with alcohol. An essential oil is produced by steam distillation of the absolute.

indole, methyl anthranilate, benzyl acetate, linalyl acetate, linalool jasmone.
Properties
Analgesic (mild), antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, carminative, cica-trisant, expectorant, galactagogue, parturient, sedative, tonic (uterine).
Key Qualities
Warming, Intoxicating, aphrodisiac, uplifting, anti-depressant, euphoric, balancing.
Blends well with
Rose, sandalwood, clary sage, and all citrus oils.
Safety Data
Non-toxic, non-irritant, generally non-sensitizing.
Cautions
Avoid during pregnancy. Unfortunately, because of the high price of jasmine absolute it is especially susceptible to adulteration. Therefore, it may be advisable to regard the oil as a perfume material rather than an aromatherapy grade oil. It may irritate sensitive skin.
