Extraction Method
Essential oil by water or steam distillation from the freshly picked flowers.
Characteristics
Pale yellow and clear liquid. The aroma is intensely sweet and floral, reminiscent of almonds and jasmine combined.

Methyl benzoate, methyl salicylate, linaly acetate, cadinene, caryophyllene, pinene, cresol, eugenol, linalol, geraniol, benzyl alcohol, sesquiterpenes, acetic acid, benzoic acid, phenol, cresol methyl ether.
Properties
Aphrodisiac, antidepressant, antinfectious, antiseborrhoeic, antiseptic, euphoric, hypotensive, nerving, regulator, sedative (nervous), stimulant (circulatory), tonic.
Key Qualities
Warming refreshing, reviving.
Blends well with
Other florals, black pepper, citrus essences, frankincense, geranium, vetiver. rosewood, jasmin, peru balsam, rose, tuberose, bergamot, mimosa, cassia.
Safety Data
Non-toxic, non-irritant, a few cases of sensitization reportted. Use in moderation, since its heady scent can cause headaches or nausea.
Cautions
Generally regarded as non-irritant. However, it can provoke sensitization reactions in some people. Use in low concentrations of around 1 per cent.
