Essential oil by steam or water distillation from leaves and twigs.
Characteristics
A pale yellowy-green or water-white, mdaile liquid, with a warm, fresh, spicy-comphoraceous odor, It blends well with lavender, clary soge, rosemary, pine, ylang ylang, geramium, marjoram, and spice oils, especially clove and nutmeg.
Main Constituents
Terpinene-4-0l (up to 30%), cineol, pinene, terpinenes, cymene, sesquiterpenes, sespuiterpene alcohols.
Properties
Abrasions, abscesses, acne, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, asthma, blisters, boils, bronchitis, candida, catarrh, chlamydia, cicatrizant, colds, cuts, ear infections, expectorant, febrifuge, fever, mumps, pneumonia, ringworm, sinusitis, sudorific, sunburns, tonsillitis, toothaches, tuberculosis.
Key Qualities
Penetrating, mediciral, stimulating, refreshing.
Blends well with
Lavandin, Lavender, Clary-sage, Rosemary, Oak moss, Pine, Cananga, Geranium, Marjoram and spice oils, especially clove and nutmeg.
Safety Data
Non-toxic, non-irritant, possible sensitization in some individuals. The strength of Tea Tree oil should be respected and therefore large amounts should never be used neat on the body or in particularly sensitive areas.
