Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy
is the term that was first coined by the French Chemist, Gattefosse,
in 1928. He accidentally found lavender oil was able to immediately
remedy a severe burn on his hand and also prevent scarring. After
that he became fascinated with the therapeutic possibilities of
essential oils.
|
|
| Each essential oil
has a specific interaction with the body's chemistry in direct and indirect
manners, which can affect certain organs or complete body systems. For the
example, when the oils are used externally in the form of a treatment such
as in massage, they are easily absorbed via the skin and transported throughout
the body. |
| Whilst many
aromatic oils are used for flavoring our food and beverages and are
consumed daily in minute amounts such as peppermint oils, mint oils
and menthol, please check with us before using them in products where
may be ingested to ensure you have the appropriate food grade materials. |
