Essential oil is obtained by water
or steam distillation from the fresh petals of Rosa damascena Mill. |

A pale yellow or olive yellow liquid
with a very rich, deep, sweet-floral, sliqhtly spicy scent. The absolute
is a reddish or olive viscous liquid with a rich, sweet, spicy-floral, tenacious
odours. It blerds well with most oils, and is useful for - rounding off
blends. |

The principal constituents are Citronellol
(34-55%), Geranol and Nerol (30-40%) |

Acne, alzheimer's disease, antibacterial,
antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, arthritis, astringent, bactericide,
black eyes, bleeding, blepharitis, chapped lips, cirrhosis of liver, colds,
convalescence, cuts, diuretic, drug withdrawal, endometriosis, fainting,
female infertility, hair loss, headaches, insomnia, laxative, menopause,
muscular dystrophy, pmssymptoms,raynaud'sdisease,sedative, shock,stomachic,synovitis,wounds,wrinkles.

Rose blends well with citrus oils
and floral scents. Cedarwood, Coriander, Chamomile, Frankincense Sandalwood
and Vanilla are all good blends.

best avoided during the first 4 months of pregnancy. |
